Group Protests State Park Closure (Florida)
Source: WESH

About 50 people gathered to protest Tuesday at the Washington oaks State Park, one of two in the county listed for closure in a proposal to save money.

The group formed a circle around one of the park's historic trees at the urging of the Audobon Society.

County officials are drafting letters asking to save the park, along with Bulow Plantation.

4. So do I, Dr. and you're right. He's going to be some trouble.
I think many of his ideas will be shot down when the voting happens though.

Washington Oaks is wonderful place though and I hope they save it from the cuts.

5. I know - sure hope so also - I love going for bike ride up there - and stopping off
at the parks to rest and relax a bit.

Seems as though we continue to struggle to keep that area pristine and out of the hands of the developers.
