Minor, judges set for resentencing in March
Edited on Tue Feb-08-11 09:30 AM by nalnn
Source: Sun Herald Online

U.S. District Court Judge Henry Wingate has reset sentencing of former Biloxi attorney Paul Minor and two former state court judges for 10 a.m., March 10, in Jackson.

They will be resentenced on 2007 convictions in a judicial bribery case because the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned their convictions on a number of charges and ordered resentencing on the convictions that stood. Resentencing had been scheduled for January, but was delayed due to an illness on the court staff.

Former Chancery Court Judge Wes Teel and former Circuit Court Judge John Whitfield will be resentenced along with Minor. Minor secured loans for the judges, then concealed payments on Whitfield’s loans while Minor cases were pending in the judge’s court.

Oops, clicked too fast.

What is the law called again? The one struck down that is allowing this re-sentencing to happen. Fair services? That's not it. Anybody?
