Protesters stage overnight sit-in at New Cross library

Protesters taking part in a national day of action over planned library closures are staging an all-night sit-in at a library in south-east London.

Campaigners against cuts at New Cross Library, who were taking part in an earlier "read-in", resolved to occupy the building until lunchtime on Sunday.

Groups held "read-ins" and storytelling sessions at dozens of threatened libraries across the UK on Saturday.

Philip Pullman and Mark Haddon were among a number of authors taking part.

1. Britain has followed the lead (as usual)

of America by cutting "social programs" while giving tax breaks to the wealthy. They know from past evidence, that "the trickle down theory" only works with piss and that is what all of our citizens (non-wealthy) are getting; pissed on. This allows TPTB to concentrate their power and strangle-hold on citizens the world over.
We must start a peaceful revolution and "throw the bums out." It is our only hope.
Even if, all of a sudden (very unlikely) nations began electing Progressive leaders, it would take decades to undo the damage that has been done by the Reagan-Thatchers of the world.
With a peaceful revolution, we could change these un-democratic, elite serving, changes to our world within months (at most).
The time is now, we are the people to accomplish this.
There is a point when it is no longer possible to reverse the indignities entrenched on people. They become accepted.
Let's not wait.
