U.S. Approves Reward for Iraqi
U.S. Approves Reward for Iraqi

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell approved payment of a $30 million reward to the informant who led American soldiers to Saddam Hussein's sons, hoping the payment would speed efforts to find Mr. Hussein himself, the State Department said today.

The State Department did not name the recipient of the reward, but Newsweek magazine identified him as Nawaf al-Zaidan, owner of the house in which the sons, Uday and Qusay Hussein, were hiding when they were caught.

I wonder if the administration investigated whether this individual may have links to terrorism or not... :tinfoilhat:

1. This stuff goes on all over the world
In fascist totalitarian countries, people line up outside police stations to inform on their neighbors to receive a small cash payment.

Like Joe is saying treasonous things about El Presidente, or John may have a gun in his attic. Or Sam's children are saying bad things about the general. Like I said the usual stuff-- now apparently coming to Amerika.

4. Hahaha
You seriously think that getting rid of two scumbags who were hiding out in someones house really saved American lives? If anything it potentially caused more to die, given the increassed aggression of attacks after the fact.

Get real dude, $30 million didn't save any lives, it just perpetuated the same old shit.

3. This is the most disgusting thing
that could've been done with US taxpayer's money. I've been livid about this since yesterday.

Not only is this man going to get millions, he and his entire family are being flown to the US, will be given new identities, English lessons and be allowed to live on a military base! How many of you know, or even realize, that most military families have to wait sometimes up to 2 years, to get on-base housing around this country? And this piece of shit not only gets the money, but gets a house that should go to a US military member? I find that to be one of the biggest betrayals among hundreds that this misadministration has done to those that wear the uniform. It's intolerable. Not to mention what that $30 million should've been used for in this country to better the lives of our own citizens.

This whole notion of paying Iraqi's this kind of money so that we can hunt down and kill others, I find to be despicable and unexplainable. It's an outrage. But no one in the callous media or anywhere else seems to care, much less tell it like it is. Murder for hire - "smirk's wild, wild west wet dream".

JMHO. Rant over.

6. Piece of?
Why is this person a "piece of shit" for wanting this dynamic duo gotten rid of? They were barbarous monsters.

And we are protecting the family to encourage others to do the same. That way, maybe, just maybe, Iraq will find peace.

Look, I hate the idea of the invasion, but our troops are there and I don't see any way out other than helping Iraq get on its feet. It can't do that without eliminating the Hussein murderers.

7. Yeah
We just need to give half the population enough money to shop the other half. Problem solved.

There appears to have been no lessening of resistance since the now non dynamic due were killed.

So that money accomplished what exactly? 2 dead men and some bloodlust satisfied?

8. No doubt bribing works.
The question is whether or not the bang for the buck is even remotely worth it. $30 million for two guys who were hiding in some guys house isn't worth it. Period.

Someone who thinks they ‘deserve’ $30 million dollars to get rid of two assholes that aren't worth a dime put together is a piece of shit, just as much as the idiots giving it to him.

Waste of fucking money.

9. Guess who just hopped off of Bush's "Most Wanted" list
and onto Saddam's. I hope $30M buys him a lot of protection.
