Ugandan newspaper again publishes list of gay men
Source: Associated Press

A controversial newspaper in Kampala published photos, names and home addresses of gay Ugandans on Monday — the second time the paper has done so — prompting a rights group to seek a legal injunction against the publication.

The paper's managing editor, Giles Muhame, said he plans to continue publishing photos of gay men in order to "help them live responsible lives."

... Gays in Uganda say they have faced a year of attacks and harassment since a lawmaker introduced a bill in October 2009 that would impose the death penalty for some homosexual acts and life in prison for others. The bill has not come up for a vote.

The legislation was drawn up following a visit by leaders of U.S. conservative Christian ministries that promote therapy they say allows gays to become heterosexual.

3. Is there no world condemnation of this?
How is this any different from what the Nazis did? We hung the Nazis for such activities. (Of course, we should hang Bush and Cheney but that is too much to hope.)

4. We can thank the "C Street group" for that - they have been
pushing the Ugandan government for months to persecute gays, even to the point of wanting them to establish the death penalty for being gay. Your Rethuglican Senators in action!!!

7. So That Would Make That Group......
Ummmmmm...... what are the two words I am searching for?

Damn.... when you want to remember something.... Gezzzz.......I just hate that....

Oh Yes!..... that makes them "Christian Terrorists"...........

The conversation needs to be made honest by calling a duck a duck, and a cigar a cigar.......

(and I am just speaking generally and not to you specifically as you make a very good point)

The people that are doing this (whether directly taking part in the killings, or behind the scenes with guidance and money) are without a doubt Christian Terrorists........

... and anyone that thinks they are safe just because they are not a Queer... you are only fooling yourself, as they will come after you next.......

8. Yes
If this was Iran or Saudi, this horrific act would have been immediately identified with Islam. Uganda is 85% Christian, but no mention of religion in this case.

No defense of Iran or Saudi at all...both have horrific human rights records and need to be called out. But similar standards should be applied for Uganda and Christianity, especially since there is a religious element to all of this.

5. THANKS, Uganda!
At the rate the United States is climbing in the "shittiest nation in the world" stakes, it's nice to know that SOME countries are still pulling a big lead on us.

ironically,
