US manufacturing 'picks up pace' in October says survey
Source: BBC

Expansion of the US manufacturing sector sped up in October, the latest survey by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) has found.

The institute's manufacturing index rose to a higher-than-expected 56.9 in the month, up from 54.4 in September.

New orders and exports grew particularly strongly, while imports slowed, the survey indicated, as firms benefited from the weaker dollar.

It is the 15th consecutive month of expansion for the sector.

2. Over 3 years of weak dollar prompts minimal gains
The wrong-headed weak dollar policy continued by President Obama from Pres. Bush continues to yield miniscule gains. No doubt President Obama will hype tiny gains once again.

Until artifically cheap Chinese manufacturing is curbed US manufacturing cannot significantly increase.

5. This has been going on a lot longer than a decade. It is the fault
of all politicians who allow the process to continue at the expense of the US middle class - Republican and Democrat. It is neither free trade nor fair trade when the odds are so stacked against one side.
