Source: Poughkeepsie Journal

As Election Day approaches, gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo and U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, all Democrats, are leading their Republican opponents, according to a Marist poll.

The polls were conducted by the Marist Institute for Public Opinion among likely voters, including those who have voted early and those who are undecided, but leaning toward a candidate . The data was collected last week. Election Day is Tuesday.

Cuomo, the state attorney general, has a 19 percentage-point lead over Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino. Cuomo received 56 percent, compared to Paladino's 37 percent.

1. It's just hard to say why a warm, inclusive, and charming
individual like Carl Paladino didn't win over more New Yorkers' hearts.

9. Don't you think 37% is kind of outrageous... after all, he's about the
most loathsome guy in the state, other than convicted serial child molesters

10. I only hold Carl up to abject ridicule on the grounds of
his despicable personality because time is running out for that pleasure.

I think he's not going to be in the news all that much by tomorrow evening this time.

11. It scares me when someone like Paladino can poll at 37%.

12. The percentage is too high, agree, especially given
the public face Paladino has given his own campaign.

All crass & no class.

8. Hard to believe 37% of NY state residents are stupid enough to...
vote for Paladino.

WTF??

That number should be in the high teens, at most.
