Fake Group Hands Out Fliers Meant To Mislead Black Voters In Texas
Source: TPMMuckraker / TalkingPointsMemo.com

Misleading fliers are showing up on the windshields of vehicles at a predominately African-American polling place in Houston that claim to come from a non-existent group called the "Black Democratic Trust of Texas."

The fliers were placed on the windshields of vehicles at and near the Sunnyside Early Voting location and tell voters not to voter straight Democrat, according to Texas Democrats and local news reports.

"Republicans are trying to trick us!" the flier reads. "When you vote straight ticket Democrat, it is actually voting for Republicans and your vote doesn't count. We are urging everyone to VOTE for BILL WHITE. A VOTE for BILL WHITE is a VOTE for the ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC ticket. We have fought too hard to let Republicans use voting machines to deny us our basic rights. We must guard the change and NOT VOTE STRAIGHT TICKET DEMOCRAT!"

"YES WE CAN," the flier reads.

The flier includes what appears to be an image of Ann Richards, the deceased former Democratic governor of the state. Outside of news reports about this flier, there is no online record of a group called the "Black Democratic Trust of Texas."

"These fliers are part of a coordinated effort between the Tea Party and Houston Republicans to intimidate and misinform voters," Chad W. Dunn, General Counsel for the Texas Democratic Party, told TPMMuckraker.

10. Rat-fucking is an old term
started at USC - aka Southern Cal U. by the Watergate henchmen while they were still students there. Most of Nixon's men were So. Cal. grads who "ratfucked" fraternity and student government elections. They then carried these "successes" into the Nixon White House to try to rig the '72 election, which led to the Watergate scandal.

Learn some history you young whippersnappers before posting your drivel, aka "dribble" by the less informed.

3. Another nail in the false equivalency coffin. What other party consistently tries to SCAM voters?

4. Fortunately, the claim is outlandish on its face.
It doesn't even sound right. Shows what some Texans think of the intelligence of black people.

K&R. Hope this gets some media coverage.

5. This is very odd.
Bill White is a Democrat so this would help him while presumably hurting other Democrats. You would think Republicans would want to hurt Bill White along with the other Democrats. Very odd.

6. On the news this morning, they were saying that people were getting phone calls...
...telling them they can vote online, and it gave them a link to a website that made it look like they'd voted.

I think it was in New Hampshire.

9. That one will be easy to prosecute
Run down who registered the domain, and start there. If they used state seals and such to make the site, that is conclusive proof of a criminal conspiracy to defraud.

7. Tell me that one again about voter fraud?
I know that makes certain quarters of the popular media just tingle with excitement whenever Karl Rove or some other Republican operative gases on about the potential for Massive Voter Fraud and how it's going to cheat the rightful winners of elections out of their victory. ACORN!!!11!!!Eleven! ZOMG!

And yet, these mean little dirty tricks never quite seem to rise to the attention of the "liberal" media, despite their clear aim of disenfranchising Democratic voters.
