As of Thursday, July 31, 248 U.S. soldiers have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to military officials.

The British government has reported 43 deaths.

On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 112 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to military figures.
