STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- This mailer tells voters to "Vote Republican." It also provides a pre-addressed return label to the Steuben County Board of Elections. But the Board wants you to know it's not coming from them.

"All we know is that it came somewhere from Albany. We do not know who sent the mailer out," said Vicky Olin of the Steuben County Board of Elections.

And members of the Republican Party don't think it was someone in their party, simply because the mailer doesn't show support for any candidate in particular.

"I don't know who sent these, but on the best case scenario, this is somebody who's not educated about the process," said Peter Halliday, Corning City Republican Committee Chairman.

And the worst case scenario?

"It's somebody who's trying to lead people astray. And we need to find out who it is so they can be held accountable," Halliday said.
