Report: Dems planted NJ tea-party House candidate
Source: AP via Yahoo News

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. – A New Jersey Republican congressional candidate criticized his Democratic opponent Friday amid mounting evidence that Democratic officials planted a tea-party candidate in the race to siphon off conservative votes.

"My opponent, John Adler, represents everything that is wrong with politics in our country today," Republican Jon Runyan said. "I would ask for an apology. But frankly, an apology from someone like Congressman Adler would be so meaningless that it's not worth seeking."

He spoke at a news conference Friday as Adler, a first-term Democratic lawmaker, and his campaign remained mum about a report in the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill in which Democratic operatives speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed what Republicans have believed for months: That tea-party candidate Peter DeStefano was put on the ballot by Democrats.

The operatives said a county Democratic employee is running at least the Web elements of DeStefano's campaign.

21. No, the money wasted on DINOs will be channeled into true Democrats elsewhere.

We will take away seats in other districts that should not belong to Rethugs. With Nelson voting against every Democratic bill he can what good do you think it actually does to have a "D" stamped on his seat in congress?!? With Blanche Lincoln siding with insurance companies and corporations against the American worker every chance she gets why do you think it matters what letter is after her name?!?

Take away every penny we spend on the Blue Dogs and use it to push struggling TRUE Democrats over the top wherever possible.

And just a side note, I don't give a crap if we have 60 seats in the Senate or not. All we need is a simple majority and a speaker with a backbone!

13. Individuals vs groups
So all Dems aren't pure. All Repugs aren't dreadful. But as groups, more people do better under Dems than Repugs.

26. That's what you call fighting back? Supporting vicious right-wing elements?
In hopes that it will help you win center-right voters so you can make up for all the progressives you screwed?

It's not hardball, it's desperate bullshit.

19. Nothing new. JFK's first election as a Congressional Rep. probably wasn't
the first time, either. It's part of our local collective memory, though.

22. Well I live in NJ
This is just par for the course: IF it's even true.

It's only true when the people who 'supposedly' said that come out of the shadows. Just because the republican candidate said "It's so" doesn't mean it IS so.

28. After reading a book about the 1988 campaign, I don't have any problem
with this.

The bastards are dirty and evil. It's better to be pure if you can, but politics is about winning.

that it's not fair when Dems do it. :bounce: :bounce:

27. I wonder how many people here would support Glenn Beck to get Obama elected.
"Hey, if we fund fascists we can make the Republicans look so bad that we can win the center-right vote and win the progressives and unionists out of fear and desperation."

Talk about the politics of cynicism and spinelessness.

Real courage (or at least a little molecule of backbone) is refusing to sign RW bills (like Obama did yesterday).

This is nothing but cowardice from people who don't have a platform.

29. I live in Burlington County, N.J. and will be voting in this election
while I'm not in love with this tactic, I'll live with it. Politics is dirty business and on the whole, they've played dirtier for longer. Pitting an asshole tea-bagger against an asshole republican is okay with me.
