Delayed UN report links Rwanda to Congo genocide
Source: guardian.co.uk

The United Nations today finally released a delayed report implicating the government of Rwanda in genocide in the Democratic Republic of Congo, despite a vigorous campaign by Kigali to quash the allegations.

The report by the UN human rights commission calls for a judicial investigation of possible war crimes after cataloguing years of murders, rapes and looting by various armed forces during a decade of conflict in Congo from 1993.

But the most serious accusations centre on the Rwandan army's pursuit of Hutu militia and refugees following the genocide of Tutsis in 1994. The report says the wholesale killing of tens of thousands of Hutus without regard to their age or gender could amount to genocide.

Rwanda angrily denounced the report, known as the Mapping Exercise, and warned that it posed a threat to regional stability. "Rwanda categorically states that the document is flawed and dangerous from start to finish," said the Rwandan foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo.

1. What a hell hole
A few weeks ago I met a woman who, by the grace of God, was able to get out of Rwanda. Her husband and oldest son were murdered, and she ended up in a refugee camp. Someone was watching out for her and her other three children. Just an incredible woman. She came to America and is now pursuing a nursing degree. Her children are all doing well. Quite a story!

3. look for the US to possibly kill or neuter this report
Edited on Fri Oct-01-10 08:28 PM by Alamuti Lotus
The US needs the Rwandan & Ugandan forces to help occupy Somalia and prop up the puppet government; the myriad of war crimes that the Ugandan & Rwandan armies committed during the African World War will be swept under the carpet just like Israel's.

5. I think it's mostly B.S.
Let's recap what happened in Rawanda:

Moderate Hutu (francophile) presidents of Rwanda and Burundi agree to power sharing agreement with the Tutsis (anglophile). Extremist Hutus who have been prepping the nation for genocide (which was known by the French) and a pissed off france decide to derail the deal.

Unknown persons (possibly french) supplied by the french with a missile shoot down the plane carrying the moderate hutu presidents of Rwanda and Burundi.

Extremist hutu's move into action and hack to death 800,000 Tutsi's.

There are 2,500 UN peacekeepers on the ground, watching it happen, but are ordered not to intervene.

In one really bad case a hutu governor told tutsis to gather at the nearby church where they would be safe. that same governor then led hutu militias to the church where the tutsi's were hacked to death over a period of days (it was tiring work, the militias needed to go home, sleep, and come back the next day).

Having to rely on themselves, the Tutsi exiles in Uganda launch and invasion to end the violence. They are swift and professional. They take prisoners, they do not butcher the Hutu's despite what was done.

The hutu's flee. Including the governor who directed the worst of all the massacres, they flee to UN camps where they are given food and shelter and where they re-organize to plot their return.

With their genocidal enemies protected and supplied by the UN and the Mobotu government, The tutsi's of Rwanda and Burundi (and their Ugandan allies) invade eastern congo.

In fact they eventually go all the way to Kinshasa to get rid of the corrupt CIA backed Mobotu regieme. They THEN LEAVE.

Is it possible that during this 10,000 hutu's died? Yes. Is it possible that some of them were victims of war crimes. Sure.

But by and large the Tutsi's execersized incredible restraint against those who butchered them and were then fed by the UN.

The UN had incredible egg on its face and would love to make this look like a "hey, it's east central africa and everybody is brutal" as opposed to "the worst genocide since WW2 was planned and carried out under our noses, and then we treated the perpetrators as any other displaced persons".

F the hutu's
F the UN
