CNN: President's fund-raising travels winding down
< CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) -- President Bush's fund-raising odyssey, which carried him thousands of miles on a quest for $170 million, is coming to an end. But the dollars will continue to flow into his war chest.

Having already crossed that goal, Bush's money drive comes full-circle with a fund-raiser Wednesday night in Washington -- the same place the push for cash started on June 17, 2003. >

< In another sign the effort is winding down, Bush holds a pair of thank-you events Friday in Greensboro, Georgia, the home town of his finance chairman, Mercer Reynolds III.

These appearances are meant to show Bush's appreciation to backers who rounded up the biggest donations -- the president's "rangers," "pioneers" and "mavericks," Scott Stanzel, a campaign spokesman, said Saturday.

Rangers raised at least $200,000 each for the president; pioneers, at least $100,000; mavericks, at least $50,000.

Bush, who was spending this weekend at his Texas ranch, is lavishing attention on these mega-fund-raisers as he closes out the fund-raising drive. >

I'm sure he'll be doing more than just lavishing attention on them!

3. Why doesn't a Media Whore question fund raising whiile our children
die in Iraq? Why doesn't Kerry come our and pledge to NEVER fund raise or take a vacation while our soldiers are at war and dying in a foreign country? Kerry should pledge to work day and night until they all return home safely.

4. Some math
$170,000,000 equals the amount of money received by the Bush/Cheney campaign.

$2,000 is the typical donation.

170,000,000/2000 = 85000

The Bush/Cheney campaign has approx. 85,000 people standing behind them with money.

Lets look at the Dean campaign.

$42,000,000 equals the amount of money received by the Dean campaign.

$205 is the typical donation.

42,000,000/205 = 204,878

The Dean campaign had approx. 204,878 people standing behind them with money. (This stat can easily thrown off by this evaluation. Still stands to reason that there were more people behind the Dean campaign than the Bush/Cheney campaign with a donation).

Which would you rather have in a fair election.
