Lord Prescott arrives at the QE2 conference centre in London to give evidence to the Iraq Inquiry.
OVER recent years he has become well known for his TV appearances.

The ex-Hull East MP was called to give evidence to the Iraq Inquiry in London, to explain his part in the decision making process that ultimately led to the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

Lord Prescott told the inquiry he attended 23 of at least 24 war cabinet meetings and chaired several when Blair wasn't around to do so.

During the course of the hearing, Lord Prescott revealed he had doubts about the intelligence on Saddam Hussein's weapons programmes. The ex-MP dismissed some of the British spy agencies' information about the threat posed by Iraq as "tittle tattle" and told the inquiry he had the feeling intelligence about Saddam's supposed weapons of mass destruction (WMD) was "not very substantial".
