USDA stands by ouster of employee in video
Source: AP

"Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack - not the White House - made the decision to ask Sherrod to resign, said USDA spokeswoman Chris Mather. She said Sherrod willingly resigned when asked.

Vilsack said the controversy surrounding Sherrod's comments could, rightly or wrongly, lead people to question her decisions as a federal employee and lead to lingering doubts about civil rights at the department. 'There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA,' he said in a statement.'"

Yeah, but there was no racism going on here. It was a character assassination. And they're signing off on this? Huh? The mind boggles.

6. Yep, which is why this seems inconsistent
I mean, doesn't "review" really mean, "undo it right away and save face"

2. Except Sherrod didn't discriminate against anyone in anyway
This is like "Minority Report": pre-emptive firing because she MIGHT do something bad someday. :wtf:

17. But none of the administration's quotes are dated.

The admin this morning said they were reviewing this. I would guess what you see posted there originates prior to that fact due to the update coming out after the newspaper's filing deadline.

19. It's dated this afternoon at Philly.com, but the article is from yesterday morning

The same AP article was posted yesterday morning in LBN.

Philly.com apparently has a long delay before they repost AP articles.

12. If she resigned, can she sue for wrongful termination?
Or whatever her grounds are...emotional distress maybe? Defamation?

9. The worst thing they can do is continue to bluster
They need to admit they got suckered and they need to admit it now.

either: 'Buck? What buck?'

or

'The buck gets passed right back down'
