J&J sales (Johnson & Johnson pain relievers) plunge as new drug recall announced

By LINDA A. JOHNSON

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Sales of Johnson & Johnson pain relievers are collapsing as a string of recalls appears to have made consumers wary of once-sterling brands such as Tylenol and Benadryl.

An eighth recall, announced Thursday, could worsen consumer reaction. That wariness and the huge amount of products pulled off store shelves together look to be costing J&J tens of millions of dollars a month.

Thursday's recall by Johnson & Johnson's McNeil consumer health care unit covers 21 lots of products, including Children's Tylenol. Those were recalled because of a musty or moldy smell, extending a large Jan. 15 recall tied to a nauseating chemical on shipping pallets.

The company said the new lots were added to the recall as a precaution after an internal review found those lots, shipped and stored before Jan. 15, had been on the same type of wooden pallets.

2. Could not be happier!!! hope the stock plummets down all the way to hell
Still have side effects 2 yrs later from one of thier medicines they refuse to restrict use of -Levaquin
(ortho mcneil johnson and johnson) also see www.fqresearch.org/ or the movie> CERTAIN ADVERSE EVENTS about Levaquin
They know it has terrible side effects but refuse to restrict it's use so it is not a first use drug.

Check out the lawsuits on that med and also thier ORTHO EVRA, (ortho mcneil johnson and johnson) a contraceptive patch and what it has done to some women ,stokes in young women etc.and how they lie and lie on side effects to keep making profits !!
Only one worse I can think of is Bayer ....check out this video....

3. I still can't figure out how
they were supposed to be contaminated from pallets when they are tightly sealed in bottles. I suspect more likely they were made on the cheap, and contaminated from inferior toxic ingredients. To be on the safe side we avoid nearly everything prepared by major corporations because you just know the ingredients are sourced from China and it is all made by slave labour.

4. Packaging would be my guess.
Could well be that there's nothing wrong with the product itself. (Well no more wrong than with any other J&J product.) But if the bottle smells like it's just been plucked from a dead dog's bum, would you use it?
