Gulf Researchers Getting Roadblocks from BP
Source: WUSF

ST. PETERSBURG (2010-06-08) - Some USF scientists who have been in the forefront of research into the effects of the Gulf oil spill say they've been getting resistance from BP officials after asked the company for help.

Researchers from NOAA and the University of South Florida say they have definitively found undersea plumes in several directions from the Deepwater Horizon site. But at least one scientist says he was rebuffed by BP. USF oceanographer David Hollander was trying to get a sample of oil coming out of the wellhead to compare with oil an expedition found in the depths of the Gulf.

"I tried to get a piece of the oil from a BP representative," says Hollander, "and it was met with resistance. He barked severely."

Hollander says he plans to ask for a sample a second time. USF researchers won't be able to definitively connect the undersea plume to the well until they can compare the samples. BP officials did not return a call for comment.

1. Time to send in the Marines

Not into the Gulf.

In BP's headquarters.

Enough is enough.

Otherwise, we will be arguing with BP about what a "plume" is for decades.

6. And NOAA?
Is NOAA getting turned down too? Obama's people are just sitting on the sideleines whiddling their thumbs? Or what?

NOAA must not give a shit. Otherwise they'd have all the oil the researchers ever needed.

7. He should complain to Congress. BP should not behave like Rottweillers
They should ask for a hearing at the committee to see what is going on.
