Oil spill: Barack Obama criticises BP boss Tony Hayward
Source: BBC News

US President Barack Obama has strongly criticised BP's chief executive Tony Hayward over the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

In an interview with NBC, Mr Obama was asked about comments Mr Hayward made in the wake of the disaster, such as "I want my life back" and the Gulf is "a big ocean".

Mr Obama said: "He wouldn't be working for me after any of those statements."

3. Well maybe he should personally speak to the CEO of BP
Edited on Tue Jun-08-10 07:10 AM by boston bean
seeing that he hasn't thus far.

Boot on the neck, my ass........

Obama has let BP have total control of the clean up effort due to a political calculation.

Every organisim in the Gulf and along the Gulf is just some political calculation.

I am sick!

5. check this -BP running out of oil capture capacity & won't have another ship there until mid-June
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703303904575292210472764880.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_MIDDLENexttoWhatsNewsForth

snip: "Any leakage beyond 15,000 barrels per day will continue to go into the sea until a second ship arrives, likely in mid-June."
snip

How hard is it for BP to get a ship that captures oil to the site? That's their business! Capture the oil! And you can't fucking get a ship there to do that for another 2 wks.?

Give me a fucking break! :banghead:

9. the question is, Why isn't this ship in place NOW? BP could hire a ship in the area
It has to wait for one to arrive from the North Sea (one article I read said that's where it's coming from)?

16. Uh, no. It is for BP/USCG to tell us why a ship was not en route in anticipation...
... of the need.

Y'know... planning ahead? It's not complicated. Or it shouldn't be.

14. Too Big to Rig?
BP engineered a well hole diameter that flows more than their maximum capacity to capture? Seems like that right there screams a needed regulation.

4. Well, it's fucking lucky you're working for BP, then, isn't it, Mr. President? At least that's
the impression you give when BP says who goes in or out of the area, BP issues ridiculously lowballed damage reports that go unchallenged, BP remains in control of everything despite obviously having no clue what the fuck they're doing...

15. Well Obama has made it clear that the administration is in charge
and that BP works for them. That means Hayward does work for him. I think if Obama were to force him out the American public would applaud.

18. Get real. The only way he could be forced out of his job by the US................
............government is if the US OWNED BP America (nationalize). The prick may end up "stepping down", but the US forcing him out is a fucking joke. As Tony Blair was considered Bush's lap dog, so is Obama with BP. It's the 3rd largest corp in the fucking world, and Obama is gonna fuck with them, get fucking real.
