A Delta Air Lines flight attendant preparing to board a plane bound for Atlanta was arrested after authorities found a handgun in her purse.

The woman was stopped at the Transportation Security Administration security screening checkpoint and arrested after they discovered the gun, Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott said.

The woman did not fly to Atlanta with the rest of the crew on the 6 a.m. flight.

-----

In May, police arrested a Delta pilot after they found a loaded handgun in his carry-on luggage at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

3. When you carry something in your purse on a regular basis, it's easy to forget it's there.

if it's unlicensed.

From the article:

5. serious matter !
When a airplane is involved the rules must be strict and followed by all.We are not talking about just one person ending up with a bullet in them ,if a large jetliner it could be 200-300 lives being put at risk!Iam for the Captains being allowed to have a gun in the cabin ,however they should bew required to go thru a mental health check to make sure you are not putting a gun or airplane in the hands of someone on the edge of some kind of mental break down !
IMHO ,NikRik
