Carson calls for look into flotilla raid

Rep. Andre Carson is calling for a fact-finding investigation into an Israeli naval raid that killed nine pro-Palestinian activists sailing to Gaza.

The Muslim congressman says the international community must move quickly to gather the facts surrounding the tragedy and prevent heightened tensions from leading to more deaths.

Carson, a Democrat from Indianapolis, also says the incident underscores the need to address conditions in Gaza. Several thousand Gazans rushed toward Egypt to escape the blockaded territory Tuesday after Egypt announced it.

4. Those actions are definitely worthy of praise!

What I meant was that it seems politically risky for a Muslim congress-critter to be on the front lines of this issue, given the prejudice that Muslims have to deal with in the US.

But we need more politicians willing to do the right thing, not just the politically expedient one.

5. I was skeptical when it felt like he was coronated to take her place...

but he has really paved his own way. I am a former skeptical constituent of his. (Still a constituent, no longer skeptical.)
