Cantor pressures Obama to veto any U.N. resolution 'biased' against Israel
Source: The Hill

The only Jewish Republican in Congress pressured President Barack Obama to veto any "biased" U.N. resolutions in response to an Israeli military attack on a flotilla.

House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) pushed for Obama to exercise the veto power the United States enjoys as a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council to nix a resolution that chastises Israel's military incident Monday involving a flotilla, or group of small boats, trying to access Gaza in spite of a blockade.

"As information continues to filter in, I urge the President and his administration to continue to gather all the facts, and if necessary, to veto any biased U.N. resolutions reining in Israel’s right to defend itself," Cantor said Tuesday in a statement.

The Security Council might take up a resolution that could condemn Israel's actions. The military engaged the flotilla after warning aid groups last month that an attempt to penetrate the blockade could result in use of force. Amateur videos of the conflict depict force being used on both sides.

1. Tell Cantor to go screw himself. There were innocent people killed due to the Israeli
Administration's arrogance, and they should be held accountable.

17. Yes, they did and rightly so imo because it was to broad of a resolution that Turkey
proposed, what Turkey needs to do is stop posturing an resubmit the resolution but limited to call for an investigation over the incident and if Israel refuses to cooperate then submit a proposal for an embargo against Israel for all trade and travel as well as a blockade upon Israel itself.

It has been very consistent about that.

20. Resolution1701 which Israel violated yesterday by flying over Lebanon.
If this were done by a muslim nation. The UN would talking embargo's at the very least. Isn't it funny how we cannot condemn Israel for international acts of violence. But we can condemn Iran for domestic acts of law enforcement. We play right into the rampant Xenophobia that is the middle easts biggest problem. We have a different set of rules for every country there. Then we wonder where all the conflicts come from. We used to have violence like that here in America when we had different rules for different people. We need to use this to level the playing field. We need one set of rules for everyone.

23. Here are just a few. There are hundreds more.
I said in my post UN resolutions. You try to deflect by bring up the Security Council. In fact, of over 700 General Assembly resolutions passed since the UN's 1945 establishment, nearly 450 condemn Israel. None condemn any Arab country or any Islamic terrorist organization. 5. "Amateur videos of the conflict depict force being used on both sides."
The narrative is now nearly perfectly effective. Tell Americans the same thing over and over -- "both sides used violence, and the activists started it" -- and they'll believe it.

This incident was so horrific I thought Israel had finally gone too far. But it looks like it's going to skate through. Even better for Israel, any hope of implementation of the two state solution is DOA now that Obama has shown his cards.

13. Huh!
It's interesting that "The Hill" emphasizes that Cantor is "the only Jewish Republican in Congress".

That's probably true, but the emphasis is interesting since AIPAC owns somewhere between 40 and 80 percent of Congress.

It's also interesting that the Hill fails to point out that the resolution had already been watered down to the point where it says something like: "something bad happened" and we deplore what happened regardless of who was responsible".

This country really should as his opinion before making any decision whatsoever. Thank god he's willing to let us know what he "thinks." He seems to know the nation waits with baited breath.
