Ehrlich Record on Ethics Issues Criticized
'Culture of Corruption' Decried During Campaign Persists, Some Say

Last week, one of Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s Cabinet secretaries was summoned to a legislative hearing room in Annapolis to answer questions about a series of expensive parties that state officials hosted during last year's Preakness Stakes.

The secretary, Aris Melissaratos, was not pleased.

He accused lawmakers of trying to "micromanage" his economic development agency. He dismissed news reports about the parties as "an inquisition." And he bristled when the hearing chairman questioned the propriety of raising money to pay for the receptions by "selling time with the governor" to lobbyists and corporate executives.

1. Well, I did all I could to keep him from being reelected
I remember when the same reporter who wrote this article was writing articles painting Erhlich in glowing terms.

2. Ehrlich and his Frau are sleaze buckets supreme!
Ehrlich's sole objective is to crush the Democrats in this state! Baltimore's Mayor O'Malley has fought this guy (and mostly won) since day one of this mistake of a state gubernatorial administration.
