Lawrence Taylor Arrested For Rape In N.Y. (Former NY Giant)

Former New York Giants great Lawrence Taylor was arrested for rape in Rockland County, CBS station WCBS-TV in New York reported.

Taylor, 51, was taken into custody by the Town of Ramapo police after being accused of raping someone in the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, north of New York City.

Details surrounding the rape have not yet been released other than the location and that it occurred early this morning.

Charges against the Hall of Fame linebacker will be filed once police complete their investigation, WCBS-TV reported.

A news conference is expected later Thursday afternoon, when police will reveal more details.

Lawrence Taylor has been arrested for rape, CBS 2 reports. According to MSNBC, the alleged victim is 15 years old.

LoHud.com reports that Taylor "was charged with third-degree rape, a charge that involves having intercourse with a minor." The NFL legend is accused of beating his victim during the alleged rape.

According to CBS 2, the alleged attack occurred at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, New York.

Ramapo, N.Y. authorities will release additional information at a Thursday afternoon news conference.
