Ex-Adviser Blasts Bush's Terror Response

*snip*

WASHINGTON - President Bush's national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, "looked skeptical" when she was warned early in 2001 about the threat from al-Qaida and appeared to never have heard of the terrorist organization, according to Bush's former counterterrorism coordinator.

"Her facial expression gave me the impression that she had never heard the term before," wrote Richard A. Clarke in a new book that is scathingly critical of Bush's response to the 2001 terror attacks against New York and Washington. The Associated Press obtained a copy of Clarke's book before its Monday publication.

Clarke said Rice, who previously worked for Bush's father, appeared not to recognize post-Cold War security issues and effectively demoted him within the national security council. He said Rice has an unusually close relationship with Bush, which "should have given her some maneuver room, some margin for shaping the agenda."

4. Again, when does
the party leadership put the muzzle on Lieberman? With friends like him, Bush hardly needs to spend his war chest. At the very least he needs to be told to shut up. Imbecile.

9. Chuck Hagel, Republican said info from Clarke
must be taken seriously. It offset the Lieberman remarks at the time. Heard them earlier today but not on Faux.

Kerry saids ""I would like to read them before I make any comment at all," Kerry told reporters. "I have asked for them."

Sounds like the right answer from Kerry.

11. ya know??
That's the least Lieberman/Biden could have done. Why just assume that Bush would NEVER do such a thing???? At the very least they could have read over the documentation first. What the heck?! Too many Dems trying to keep their jobs at the expense of Americans.

3. Sound about right. Seems to me 911 was a home run for Bush.
Half our country made a bad move with this group in DC.

14. I think he's doing her...
If you watch them together, he is always sterring her around with an arm on her back, he never misses a chance to touch her-my husband and I decided in 2001 that she was his special friend in the administration-and surely she knows where the money is.

And don't forget she spends almost every weekend with them
at Camp David and even some times at the pig farm. It's like she has no life of her own. If this was a Dem the wingnuts would be calling her a mistress or worse.

10. Oh OH
Rice is outed. Her facial expression gave me the impressio she had never heard the term before.

I just am flabergasted. How did this woman ever achieve a PHD and how did she ever manage to have an oil tanker named after her?

Excuse me but how is she now qualified at all to speak fo anything re the security of this country>

Ugh--I am scared with people like this phoney at the helm

actually she is not really at any helm but is going along for the ride fully cognisant of the fact that her life depends upon what she does AFTER this. AFTER this whoredom to an insane fascist, she will retire in luxury all alone without any apparent love inher life at all. It seems so lonely.
This woman should have at least one person to love her.

She is really as stupid as George and Laura Bush.

13. I think Condi is secretly in love with Georgie
The way she talks about him when asked questions about him on talk shows, she just looks all moonie, like she really has him on a pedestol. I think it is her deep dark secret, but it showed on her face, imo.

17. Lieberman
If anyone would like to express polite disagreement with Senator Lieberman commenting negatively on a conversation that undermines Bush (and which Lieberman couldn't possibly know the truth of the matter), I give you his contact information as a public service.
