Storms threaten to push Gulf oil spill towards shore
Source: USA Today

While crews work to contain the Gulf of Mexico oil spill from the sunken oil rig this weekend, rough seas will threaten the area as a line of strong-to-severe thunderstorms is forecast to move through the region, according to AccuWeather.

The rig burned for nearly two days until it sank Thursday morning. The search continues Friday for the 11 workers who are still missing.

The Coast Guard reported Friday that a rainbow sheen of what appeared to be a crude oil mix on the surface had expanded to 10 miles by 10 miles.

Sadly, I fear that the chances of finding anyone alive at this point are pretty slim.

4. 8,000 barrel per day leak.
And they want to allow drilling closer to the Florida coast.

6. I remember...
when I was a child 40 years ago in California and you would go to the beach and get tar balls stuck to you from oil spills. All these years later and another group of children will experience the same thing. Oil spills are an awful thing and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but maybe this will open the eyes of people who have never seen the damage or tried to get a tar ball off of a 7 year-old. Drill baby drill is NOT the answer.
