Bush Resists Being Drawn Into Recall Campaign
LOS ANGELES - AP

President Bush refused to take sides Wednesday in the recall election of California Gov. Gray Davis and said the decision is for Californians to make.

"I view it as an interested political observer would view it. We don't have recalls in Texas, thankfully," Bush, the former Texas governor, said at a White House Rose Garden news conference. ---

Republicans are divided over whether the recall boosts or hurts the president's chances of carrying California in 2004. Bush lost the state by more than 1 million votes in 2000.

1. Good, he should keep his dumb ass out of it
Of course, he helped create this mess, so at the very least he should be blamed.

2. Bush will funnel money in secretly
There is no way the Republicans aren't going to find a way to put money into this fight.

3. Why not?
They (Issa and his thugs) brought in out-of-state signature gatherers. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them weren't more of DeLay's brownshirts.

They are/will be putting money into this. Bet on it.

4. So, I Guess The Chimp Is Against The Recall
"We don't have recalls in Texas, thankfully."

THe use of the word,"thankfully" indicates that he is thankful that there is not a recall procedure in Texas. Either he is looking at his record, and thinking, "Wow! If we had recalls in Texas, I might have been in trouble, or my boy Perry." Or he is saying that the whole recall process is not to his liking(if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt..yeah right.)

Either way, the chimp had openly stated that recalls are a bad idea.

5. Ok
I think the California recall election is a great idea, and every American politician should be subject to an immediate recall vote.
Lets watch the Republicans spend a lot of money to get defeated in the mid election cycle, and end up in chaos for the 04 California election cycle. Further, if Davis does pull through, he is innoculated against nuisance elections for life.

6. Davis can be recalled again in 6 months if he wins
If someone else steals the office, they might be able to be recalled immediatly.

There is no stop to the bullshit that the Republicans have started.

7. Issa's in deep doo-doo...
According to Keith Oberman this evening, Issa claimed he was named Entrepenur of the Year by some mag - he wasn't. It was some restaurant chain. 2. He claimed to have been given many high grades during whatever military career he had. He wasn't. There were a couple of *goods* and at least one *unsatisfactory* - and 3, Issa claimed he was guarding Nixon at some sports event in 1971. Issa never served in a unit that protected Nixon - and Nixon did not attend whatever the game was. As far as I'm concerned, Issa owes the taxpayers of California between 30 and 35 million. (The cost of this assinine recall). If I were a Repuke 'candidate' to replace Davis - I'd be running as far away as I could get from the whole mess.
