Obama at Democratic Fundraiser: Tea Partiers Should Be Thanking Him for Tax Cuts
Source: ABC News

ABC News’ Karen Travers and Rachel Martin report:

Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser tonight, President Obama touted his administration’s tax cuts and said that the recent tea party rallies across the nation have “amused” him.

“You would think they should be saying thank you,” the president said to applause.

Members of the audience shouted, “Thank you.”

...

In a nod to Vice President Biden, the president acknowledged the crowd for their help getting health care reform across the finish line.

“As my vice president said, 'This is a big deal,'" Obama said to laughter, even though he omitted the one key word to that infamous quote from his No. 2. "And he was right."

1. Good. He'll anger them more with that statement.
Maybe he should show up at a tea party and take questions from them, and school them like he did with the GOP House retreat. A real West Wing moment.

10. Oh, wouldn't that be something?
But they'd never hear him; too busy screaming about things like keeping government out of their Medicare.

6. Yes...Yes...Yes!
You are so correct.

The media has not corrected virtually any of the crap coming from the Loonie Bin.

Somebody needs to do something.

4. That's what I really like about him, he can parry with right wing criticisms.

His comments are "heavy blows", which is what it takes with the Tbaggers.

Good work.

5. More....
Excerpt:

Referencing his speech at Cape Canaveral, Obama told the crowd that he was just visiting NASA and thought he'd "BEAM DOWN and visit my friends in Miami."

7. They should be using their refunds to hire a tutor to learn how to spell
Instead they'll give it to the Republicans who will give more tax cuts to the very wealthy and leave them with the burden of paying for it

12. They should but they won't...
Never in my life have a seen a group of morons 1) protest against their own best interests 2) enjoy being contrary to things that actually benefit them 3) enjoy protesting in the face of overwhelming evidence proving them wrong.

all their actions pretty much fit the definition of insanity.

14. I had a teabagger tell me online the other day
that while Yes, TEA is an acronym for Taxed Enough Already, they didn't really *like* tax cuts if it meant their children would suffer on down the line. It was really, he asserted all about the *spending*, not the taxes.

13. Republicans funding the DNC
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 11:04 AM by AlphaCentauri
Gloria Estefan, her and her husband are registered Republicans.

Gloria and Emilio Estefan hosted President Barack Obama at a reception at their Star Island home Thursday, moments before the Commander-in-Chief stopped at another fund raising event for the Democratic National Committee.

The $30,000 per couple cocktail reception raised millions of dollars for the committee. Gloria Estefan wore a white dress and during the event, showed Obama pictures of the recent violent clashes in Cuba involving family of journalists and dissidents.
