Obama: Risks of nuclear attack have risen
Source: AP

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama says the risk of nuclear attack has increased, calling it a "cruel irony" after the end of the Cold War.

In his opening address to the first full day of the Nuclear Security Summit, the president notes that the risks of nations going to war with nuclear weapons have decreased. Nevertheless, he tells representatives from 47 countries that "the risk of a nuclear attack has gone up." Obama was speaking of the threat of terrorists getting their hands on nuclear materials.

blah blah blah, terra, terra, terra, now hand over your civil liberties so I can make you safe.

9. What civil liberties is he asking be handed over?
None. This is about reducing the material available to make nuclear weapons. Just a week after agreeing the largest cuts to our nuclear stockpiles in twenty and the U.S and Russia will dispose of even more weapon making materials. What's BS is you even making this stupid argument.

Under the agreement we are about to sign, the United States and Russia will each irreversibly and transparently dispose of no less than 34 metric tons of weapons-grade plutonium. Together, that is enough material for nearly 17,000 nuclear weapons. And we will put in place the framework and infrastructure needed to dispose of even more plutonium from defense programs in the future.

The agreement provides for monitoring and inspections that will ensure that this material will never again be used for weapons or any other military purpose. By using civil nuclear reactors to dispose of the plutonium, we gain an added benefit – to produce electricity for our people, even as we remove a potential serious danger.

This is from before Obama was in charge of the "football" :
