Bomb Threat Closes Pentagon City Metro Station
Source: WJLA (ABC7 Washington, D.C.)

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Pentagon City Metro station is closed because of a suspicious package and bomb threat at the station in Arlington.

Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato says Metro Transit Police are investigating the incident. It started about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Trains are turning around on either side of Pentagon City on the blue and yellow lines. Metro is working to set up shuttle bus service between L'Enfant Plaza and Crystal City and between Arlington Cemetery and Crystal City. Shuttle service may not be running for some time, though.

Asato says Metro is already busy with large crowds at the cherry blossom festival and for a Washington Nationals game, so riders should expect some delays.

2. Yikes hubby and I went to see the cherry blossoms yesterday, and used that same metro - glad we
went yesterday and not today. Scary. Bet it's another whacky right-winger.

When we went yesterday there was an anti-abortion van parked near the Capitol with the most disgusting photos and slogans, with people handing out their propoganda.

Wonder if they planted the mysterious package? Wouldn't put it past right-wing religious whackadoodles.

4. Reopened. It was closed for 2 hrs
Edited on Sat Apr-03-10 10:03 PM by chill_wind
The station was searched and the package was determined to be harmless.

The incident began at 5:32 p.m., and the station reopened at 7:40 p.m.

There was a telephoned threat to go with the package, though.

6. TeaKlanner test...
> There was a telephoned threat to go with the package, though.

When the police asked for their name and phone number, did they
leave it?

Second level test: Were they first overhead to say "Honey, what's
mah phone number?"

5. That same bomb threat actually delayed trains heading down to Pentagon City.
I was going to the Smithsonian museums for a film festival and I had to wait ten minutes on the Green-line train because of this.
