LOS ANGELES – John Forsythe, the handsome, smooth-voiced actor who made his fortune as the scheming oil tycoon in TV's "Dynasty" and the voice of the leader of "Charlie's Angels" has died after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 92.

Forsythe died late Thursday at his home in Santa Ynez from complications of pneumonia, publicist Harlan Boll said Friday.

"He died as he lived his life, with dignity and grace," daughter Brooke Forsythe said.

I loved the looks on his face when the Dynasty women ...
got into their inevitable cat fights...Ahh, the days of big shoulder pads and even bigger hair. ;)

LOL RIP, Mr Forsyth--a very elegant actor.

They all seem to be leaving us at about the same time.

Part one of five interviews at the Archive of American Television:

John Forsythe

His father didn't like FDR, but he loved him.

6. R.I.P.
Just heard it on the radio. What a last couple weeks with all the classic actors who have passed. Was surprised (but maybe not so...) at his age.

R.I.P. Mr. Forsythe. O8)

9. So sad...he already has a huge fan in the beyond...
My mother adored John Forsythe. It was always very smile-inducing when she would get that little sparkly smile when Dynasty came on TV.

Dignity and grace..a wonderful legacy!

12. Always seemed to comport himself as a Carolina Gentleman
Old school here in Chapel Hill.

More dignified than fellow UNC student from roughly the same period, Jack Palance.

Each came to Carolina on athletic scholarships, as did Paul Wellstone.
