President's Working Group to Offer Biofuels Agenda
Source: Wall Street Journal

WASHINGTON—An interagency biofuels group created by President Barack Obama is set Wednesday to outline a broad agenda for ensuring the U.S. increases the amount of biofuels used in cars, trucks, and airplanes.

The President's Interagency Working Group will say the U.S. isn't on track to meet the federal mandates of adding 36 billion gallons of biofuels to the fuel supply year by 2022 and adding 100 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol this year. The group will cite a lack of financing stemming from a prolonged U.S. economic recession and insufficient coordination among government agencies as part of the problem.

Mr. Obama created the biofuels interagency working group in May and designated the energy secretary, agriculture secretary, and the Environmental Protection Agency administrator to lead the group.

A version of the report was obtained by Dow Jones Newswires.

2. OK, I'll bite...
Cellulosic ethanol is made from non-food crops such as switchgrass and hemp that can be grown on land that will not support food crops. These non-food crops can be watered with greywater that is not suitable for drinking. In fact, sewage would be suitable for feeding the non-food crops as well as supplying water.

Meanwhile, fossil fuels seem to need replacement, unless you support the CO2 release from burning them, the PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) pollution that causes childhood cancers and leukemias (25% more in children who live within 1/4 mile of a gas station, according to one Italian study), and the wars we get into wherever the oil is produced.

Me, I burn restaurant waste oil, that has been commercially processed close by my city, in my diesel car and in my home heating unit. I find biofuels to be quite a success.

What was your criticism again?

Bill

Edit…
You are talking bio- diesel, my mistake sorry.

So anyway, back to my question please. Where are they using hemp as feed for bio diesel?

original: I was not aware that any of the US ethanol producers...

Where are they processing hemp?

7. I said you might be a winner...
I mean I said they could use hemp. That's why the President is stressing this initiative, to ramp up cellulosic ethanol production.

9. And you can't run your car on water...
Are you about to tell me that you don't drive, you are a pure one who uses no fossil fuel so you are entitled to criticize those of us who use biofuels as an alternative to fossil fuels? Just askin'....
