Stocks Getting Hammered
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=568&e=9&u=/nm/20040315/bs_nm/markets_stocks_dc

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell on Monday, dragging major market gauges down 1 percent, as signs that al Qaeda may have masterminded the deadly bombings in Madrid raised fears of more surprise attacks around the world.

<snip>

Only 2 paragraphs. I know we have a stock market thread, but I thought this headline deserved it's own thread. Especially after all the rosy-themed economic threads I've seen posted here during the stock market run-up. The economy still sucks.

5. Just wait until they pull the artificial stops.
Greenie's getting his balls squeezed by our D student business failure of a pResident. Interest will HAVE to be raised soon, but probably not until DEcember. Then, all bets off.

I sold half my portfolio 2 weeks ago. I'm waiting to see how this pans out. Stock markets are always lower in election years, and I'd ridden this bubble long enough. Learned a little from the last bad ride.

3. Certain selected pieces of the economy have not sucked.
But generally, those aren't the pieces that your average paid-on-
a-W2 wage jockey like you or me have any access to. Halliburton,
on the other hand...

4. Now that they are finally getting investigated
Their stock is dropping too, and HARD.

Now you will not hear me shedding a tear for that.

What worries me is that the crash may be here and Bush will blame it on EVERYTHING but what he has been doing or not doing, depending on your point of view... so HOOVER of him.
