Hoffman lacks votes to catch Owens ((NY-23)
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 09:58 AM by brooklynite
Source: Watertown Daily Times

The race for the 23rd Congressional District is finally, mathematically, over.

Rep. William L. Owens could lose all 3,072 absentee ballots left to be counted and still win the race.

Mr. Owens led the race by 3,176 votes after the 11 counties' boards of elections recanvassed the machine vote. The Plattsburgh Democrat has ceded just 71 votes of his lead back to Conservative Party candidate Douglas L. Hoffman during absentee ballot counting this week.

11. Silly, you can't make men turn gay.
But you can make them gay marry after you take their guns.

2. Let the wailing & gnashing of teeth commence!
I'm conflicted. One the one hand, I'm glad that the election is finally resolved, but on the other, I'm saddened that we didn't get to extract the last drip of wingnutty douchebaggery from this sideshow clown circus. I was hoping to point & laugh a bit longer.

6. First you concede, then you unconcede, then you reconcede
It's like being a regifter, then a degifter, then trying to parlay an upstairs invite into a Super Bowl sex romp.

20. ultra liberal media
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 03:47 PM by katkat
So, I was reading along in a blog I follow, a nice cozy blog about farm life, when suddenly the owner posts a raving screed out of nowhere about "the ultraliberal media" (you know who you are, apparently, New York Times) and how the crazy Democrats look down on people like her because Obama calls them "folks", and other such stuff that made my brain hurt, and twenty odd people chimed in. Then I replied and oops, I'm now banned from that blog :-)

So I am wondering what she'd think of the real ultra liberal media if she actually read any of that :-)
