Senate advances David Hamilton for appeals court
Source: USA Today

The Senate voted 70-29 today to end a filibuster threat against one of President Obama's first federal judiciary appointees, David Hamilton of Indiana.

Obama nominated Hamilton to the United States 7th Circuit Court of Appeals based in Chicago in March and the Senate Judiciary Committee approved his appointment in June. Hamilton was endorsed by Indiana's senior senator, Republican Richard Lugar.

3. government is at a standstill because of fillibuster THREAT ?!?!?!
Just the THREAT of a fillibuster makes it take 9 months to vote on a nominee! That's ridiculous, the democrats have a "fillibuster proof majority" (or so we were told). Still, I can't believe any democrat would vote against President Obama's nominees. It's time our senate stood up to this BS and make the a$$holes stand up and read from a phonebook for a week so network news can show their viewers what the party of NO is doing if they really want to fillibuster. Call their bluff.

4. The Dems in the Senate won't stand up because they don't want to stand up.
Democrats and Republicans... they're all on the same team, all taking their marching orders from the same plutocracy. This notion that there are two teams slugging it out... it's all theater; all bullshit. The sooner everyone realizes this, the sooner the people can build a genuine party of the people and take our country back from these fucks.
