Senate advances David Hamilton for appeals court

The Senate voted 70-29 today to end a filibuster threat against one of President Obama's first federal judiciary appointees, David Hamilton of Indiana.

Obama nominated Hamilton to the United States 7th Circuit Court of Appeals based in Chicago in March and the Senate Judiciary Committee approved his appointment in June. Hamilton was endorsed by Indiana's senior senator, Republican Richard Lugar.

Just the THREAT of a fillibuster makes it take 9 months to vote on a nominee! That's ridiculous, the democrats have a "fillibuster proof majority" (or so we were told). Still, I can't believe any democrat would vote against President Obama's nominees. It's time our senate stood up to this BS and make the a$$holes stand up and read from a phonebook for a week so network news can show their viewers what the party of NO is doing if they really want to fillibuster.
