Basque separatist party denies ETA responsible for blasts
http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s1064201.htm

The leader of the banned Basque separatist party Batasuna has denied a Spanish government claim that the armed Basque group ETA carried out the train bombings in Madrid and instead blamed "Arab resistance" to Spain's role in the Iraq war.

Party leader Arnaldo Otegi said he "refused to believe" that ETA was responsible for the apparently coordinated bombs which killed dozens of people and left hundreds wounded. snip

But Mr Otegi blamed "the Arab resistance", using the example of Spain's role in the US-led coalition in Iraq.

"Spain maintains occupation forces in Iraq and we should not forget that it had a responsibility for the war in Iraq," he said.

I read the news article blaming ETA.

3. ETA hit the 1,000 mark today
What hogwash, this talk of "experts" pointing anywhere but at ETA.

A month ago, police managed to stop a van loaded with 1,000 pounds of explosives intended to hit a train station in Northern Madrid. Two ETA members were detained.

Now, they hit the Southern train stations.

Simple enough, if you follow the news a bit, and pay less attention to pro-ETA propaganda.

Today, ETA pushed the number of its assassinations to well over 1,000: the first assassination didn't occur in 1968, but in 1963. A three-year old girl was the first victim of an assassination that took place... in a train station.

Spain ought to opt out of the European Convention, and eliminate the current jail term limit of 30 years: life imprisonment without parole for these motherfuckers, and stiff penalties for their apologists.

nothing to do with the bombings. Who stands to gain the most from this event? I would say that the sitting Spanish government has the most to gain and is using ETA/"arab terrorists" for its own ends. Those in control like having control and this "age of terrorism" provides good cover for manipulation and this was a classic standard operating procedure for governments the world over. The truth will be be made clear..
