Pakistan bomb targets checkpoint

A suicide bomber has attacked a police checkpoint in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least seven people, officials say.

Two of those killed were policemen, a spokesman said. More than 25 other people were injured, he added.

Local media said a car laden with explosives had been driven into the checkpoint in the Pushta Khara area.

Government official Sahibzada Muhammad Anis said the car exploded as police went to search it, AP news agency said.
