Get ready, America: Here comes Sarah Palin (Going Rogue Tour)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Get ready, America. Like her or not, Sarah Palin is coming to a city near you.

Last year's Republican vice presidential nominee is starting a book tour next week to promote her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life."

Is it a thinly-veiled bid to test the waters for a possible 2012 Republican presidential bid, or simply an effort to make money and cement her celebrity status?

Only time will tell. For now, the opening stops of her tour in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama and Florida, could be valuable if she later decides to run.

Details - Battleground States, Finale at Grayson's FL-8

MSNBC: The Going Rogue Tour

On Monday, she'll be on Oprah. On Wednesday she's embarking on a whirlwind, seven-day, 13 city tour that's sure to sell lots of books.

* Battleground America: 11 of the 13 stops are in battleground states

* Real America Tour? Not only is she eschewing the big cities, but nine of the 13 stops are in congressional districts won by McCain. The ones won by Obama are either swing presidential districts or places where a good potential GOP candidate could unseat the Democrat.

* Bookends: The bookend states -- Michigan and Florida -- are the primary states that the Democrats had their delegate fight over during the 2008 primaries.

* Potential for Fireworks: Her last date is in FL-8, represented by... Alan "Die Quickly" Grayson. We'll see if he shows up at that Barnes & Noble.

1. I heard she was bypassing larger, more progressive cities...It does seem
that the teabag contingent live on the outskirts of town...

3. She can't totally shut out the press.

She'll say her usual "rogue" statement which translates to pure stupid sometime during the "tour".

Oprah and her staff probably have an understanding to do a straight interview . . . until Palin says something too outrageous to ignore.

We know SP and her commodity value. Nothing's changed since last year. Time hasn't made her smarter or more profound. She may have even worsened.

And she'll be overlooked again once the tour is over.

When do you think she will quit this "tour". I am willing to bet she doesn't finish and blames it on the media.

15. She'd be met with a hell of a lot of protestors if she did
Sarah's a coward. She's not actually going to go anywhere that she might be confronted with "the haters", aka people with more than two synapses to rub together. In the meantime, I can only hope that Mr. Grayson shows up to visit with her. I'd do pay-per-view to see that!

14. The dumbing down of America has begun.
Please Ms. Palin, enlighten us to the world of going to 5 different colleges for one degree and quitting your day job. Excellent role model. She is the Paris Hilton of politics, famous for being famous. What has she accomplished again for the good of the American people?

16. Great....traffic going home on the 24th should be lovely in downtown Orlando.
Maybe I'll sneak over there at lunch and hide all of her books in the Fiction section.

Or maybe in the Horror section?

21. No She's Not - Yeah!
Sarah won't be coming to progressive cities like my home town of Portland, Oregon. She knows that we're not the "Real America" that support her. Oh darn. Actually I would love to have her cornered in a book store and ask her tough questions. Like "What magazines are you reading now?" "Us," "People" and the "Enquirer" are probably her top choices. I'd also ask her what was the last book she read. I'd bet she hasn't read a book since her "damned liberal college professors" made her read one.

If she is the face of the GOP then the Democratic party should be banking on her and working to gain traction on the stupidity she represents.

23. First peek: What's in Sarah Palin's new book

Top of the Ticket
Politics and commentary, coast to coast, from the Los Angeles Times

Not that anybody even cares or clicked here on purpose or will gobble up every word because Sarah Palin isn't even Alaska's Republican governor anymore and her GOP presidential ticket lost last year big-time and critics made a lot of fun of her habits and family and her clothing and the way she talks and didn't get an abortion and then quit as Alaska's governor.... Despite the help of a professional writer, the book sounds just like Palin, written warmly and personally, the way she talks doggoneit ... She settles scores with some of those brave McCain folks who as genuine teammates in battle anonymously leaked unhelpful things about her to journalists during the campaign. Ms. P helpfully provides their names ...

25. Well, she really turned...er, did the trick in that NY House race.
Oh wait, she didn't. The Democrat won.

Another fail in her resume that will NOT be mentioned while the MSM is fawning over her.

Maybe Oprah will convince Palin to give up on vaccinations, and she'll be bitten by Glenn Beck.
