White House Denies Quick Decision On Troops
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 02:09 PM by Turborama
Source: Sky News

The White House has dismissed Gordon Brown's assertion that President Obama is close to announcing a decision on a troop "surge" in Afghanistan.

During Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Brown told MPs he had spoken to Mr Obama and expected him "to announce in a few days what his numbers for Afghanistan will be".

However a White House spokesman insisted that the decision was still "weeks and not days" away.

Downing Street has said the PM he had been "using that phrase in the vernacular".

4. As WWII hero Smedley Butler said, war is a racket run by rich people
The U.S. sold $50 billion dollars worth of weapons to Iraq before the first gulf war.

Libya was supplied with hundreds of Green Beret trainers and 42,000 lbs of C-4 plastic explosives prior to U.S. attacks on Libya.

The U.S financed the Kama River truck plant which produced the trucks for Russia's Afghanistan invasion and built the highways used by the Russian tanks.

The day General McArthur signed the peace treaty with Japan half the weapons stored on Okinawa were shipped to Ho Chi Minh and General Giap who met these shipments at the docks of Hai Phong harbor with Lucien Conein, the CIA case officer for Diem.

So, who are the people that cause conflicts and wars?

Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 06:11 PM by Mari333
if he even remotely listens to the people, he would see his approval rating skyrocket by getting us out of there, and Iraq.
right now, its sinking, and he needs to smarten up.

8. The media needs to calm down
The media has posted several hasty, inaccurate reports saying that the President has reached a decision. They need to relax and report the news after it happens, not before.
