CBC NewsThe Mounties have arrested a 37-year-old Rwandan immigrant and charged him with war crimes related to the 1994 genocide in his home country.
Investigators on Friday picked up Jacques Mungwarere, who's been living in Windsor, Ont. He made a brief court appearance on Saturday in Ottawa, where he was remanded in custody and his case held over until Thursday.
In a statement, the RCMP's war crimes section said the investigation began more than six years ago after they received a complaint from a concerned citizen.
Mungwarere is alleged to have committed an act of genocide in the area of Kibuye, Rwanda.

He'd be the second participant in the genocide to be charged in Canada. The previous trial resulted in Désiré Munyaneza getting convicted a couple of weeks ago; the ruling (and sentence) declared it the worst possible crime under Canadian law.
I'm
always glad to see justice catch up to anyone who had any sort of authority in the genocide. I'm also glad to see it's getting harder for these guys to hide simply by crossing a border, as more countries proceed to pass war crimes legislation.
