Spain requested to monitor situation on the border (Venezuela/Colombia)
Source: El Universal

The government of President Álvaro Uribe asked Spain to explore "mechanisms to verify and monitor the situation" on the border with Venezuela, where tension has arisen over the last few days, the Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs said Friday in a statement.

Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermúdez contacted his Spanish counterpart Miguel Angel Moratinos to make the request, the official communiqué said, as reported by AFP.

Last September, Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero had offered to mediate in the diplomatic crisis between Colombia and Venezuela. However, the Colombian Head of State rejected the Spanish offer. Uribe alleged then that the communication channels with Caracas remained open.

1. Spain is well-placed to perform this task very competently,
under its present government.

2. I believe some that are still serving had at a minimum advance knowedge
of the 2002 coup. Which is probably why Colombia wants them.

3. I wouldn't be surprised. Knowledge (of all sides),
and an ability to communicate with all sides (hopefully, even-handedly), is usually more useful than (prejudice and) ignorance.

4. Spain isn't neutral. Which is why Uribe's corrupt governent chose them.
I guess trying to get whatever advantage you can get in these situations is just par.

5. Uribe wants to spread his Far-Right Death Squads & mass graves throughout Latin America.
Uribe is the Neocons' biggest international asset. He will cause havoc.

We will see False Flags involving Colombia against Venezuela as we have already seen against Ecuador.

6. We know where this is going when all these articles talk about Chavez
having a problem with this base deal as if he's the only one, don't we? In fact, most leaders in the region hate this deal.

So, this isn't about Chavez and Uribe. This is about the homocidal Pentagon lapdog Uribe and the region. :hi:

9. I don't think Operation Condor or even a blunter assault on Latin American democracy is going to
work this time.

In part for the same reason the coup against Chavez failed. Too many in the military are tired of being on the wrong side of history.

That should be happening here.
