Cheney blasts probe of CIA interrogations (‘I find that absolutely abhorrent’)
Source: MSNBC/The Elkhart Truth

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - Former Vice President Dick Cheney held back no criticism Thursday of President Barack Obama, strongly questioning the administration's policy in Afghanistan and its approach to combating terrorism.

Cheney, speaking to the Economic Club of Southwest Michigan, was harshest when addressing a Department of Justice investigation into so-called "enhanced interrogations" used by the CIA and military on detained suspected terrorists.

"I find that absolutely abhorrent," said Cheney, who served under George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. "It bothers the heck out of me that we would go after those people who have been instrumental in preventing further attacks against the United States."

...

When the Bush administration re-evaluated its position on the Afghanistan war in late 2008, Cheney said, it passed on the results to the new administration instead of changing course itself. Obama followed that advice at first, he said, but now seems to be backing off.

"Our adversaries take heart from our hesitation and vacillation," he said, "because it underlies their basic strategy: If you kill enough Americans, you can change their policy."

that leaves him in a vegetative state for the next few years while the family wrangle over his $$$.

4. We need not wish him ill. He will go soon enough, and his legacy is his punishment.
Although his treachery and disservice to our country should be held up as an example of the lousy way he used the power of his office.

Quite the contrary. Evil, greedy, vengeful, treacherous, condescending, hateful and totally without a conscience, but definitely not stupid.

while attacking a sitting President that hails from the opposing party.

One sides cheers. The other side expresses outrage and scorn at the nerve of the man making such comments.

Same song, I forget which verse. (there's been so many)

Curtains

Next showing coming soon.

Because this periodic 'Cheney said' theatre obviously has more value than actually putting the war criminal in prison.

I'm just tired of the fucker continually being legitimized when he should be in prison

if only to shut him the fuck up. gawd i hate that ... that ... whatever it is.

i can't stand to listen to him talk, but can't help wonder if there's a little panic behind these outbursts. we all know that if Al Gore had run around the country and postured for the media about how terrible little gw was, the fucking republicans would have raised hell and he probably would have been jailed for treason or somesuch.

just pisses me off. fuck this bastard. :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

5. Sure he does
he thinks that might find evidence that ties him to approval of it. AND THEN PROSECUTION FOR WAR CRIMES...but this will never happen. Democrats don't have the spine to prosecute either bush or cheney.

But nothing stopped the republicans for going after Clinton and now Obama.

19. Thank You
The first thing the Bush administration did when they were "selected" by the Supreme Court in 2000 was rent a giant dumpster.
Then they took anything that had to do with the previous administration and they ran it out the back door and threw it away.
Then they went on TV and declared the "adults were in charge".
Then 19 of Poppy and "Dubyas" best friends from Saudi Arabia decided to fly some planes into some buildings and wreck our country.

Way to go.

Fuck Cheney with a spiked rubber dildo two times.
And his vile daughter too.

42. well, then if he hadn't invaded Iraq
his buddies at Halliburton and Dynacorp couldn't have made a windfall on the backs of the taxpayers.

Yeah, I remember when they said that the adults were in charge. The president who took more vacations-the president who couldn't be bothered with the august PDB report-the president who needed to attack Iraq with trumped up intel-the president who in a time of war, thought it wise to cut taxes on the most wealthy of this country-the president who publicly, more than once, joked about hitting the trifecta after 9/11-the president who joked publicly about looking for WMDs while thousands have been killed-the president who had to hold Cheney's hand (and stipulate it would not be under oath) at the 9/11 hearings-the president who played guitar while NO drowned. God, I could go on and on about the "Dark side."

To me, Cheney is a classic sociopath and has shown more interest in his corporate interests and buddies, than the health of this country. And, what they have done to this country-I'm thinking it's close to treasonous.

33. Here is what cheney* really finds abhorrent: being tried for war crimes.
And the truth be told, cheney* did not serve "under" bush*, bush* served under cheney*. bush* may have had the title and the Oval Office, but he certainly did not have the power. I believe that was negotiated in advance MONTHS before the 2000 Selection. Look back through the cheney*/bush* administration: when appropriate, the seat of power always moved to its "undisclosed location."

bush* may have had the last laugh though by NOT pardoning Libby. With that one non-action, bush* was able to thumb his nose at cheney* and distance himself from cheney*'s act of treason. And make no mistake, the deliberate outing of Valarie Plame for revenge against her husband WAS AN ACT OF TREASON.

46. He is so busy
trying to fable-lies about his time in office. I am just waiting for him to keep talking so that we can get more to use against him. Cheney has been speaking with a fork tongue since before Dubya wanted to be President. Who do you think gave that idiot the idea that his 2.0 ass could be President. Cheney believes that he is going to get away with helping to destroy our country. But everyday we are going to remind each other of the hateful things that he and Dubya put on the American People. Dick Cheney can go piss up a f--king roach. Play in oncoming traffic. Sit in an enhanced interrogation chair in the middle of Iraq or Afghanistan. You know if these leaders had to get they ass out there like the ultimate fighting challenges and fight each other with just brut strength, most of them tricks would not be for war. Its easy to send someone to war when you don't have to go. Cheney is cold as the day is long. And don't think for one minute Dubya is as dumb as he looks. After all the President is supposed to know everything his corrupt cabinet is doing. And who's to say he didn't.
