Tony Blair linked to £1m Tesco Middle East deal

The former Prime Minister, who is currently a peace envoy in the region, is understood to have discussed becoming a figurehead for the company’s drive to expand into the Middle East.

But the talks are thought to have broken down after Mr Blair, who is being touted as the first President of Europe, and Tesco failed to reach an agreement.

The news is likely to be used as evidence that Mr Blair is too financially motivated to become the most powerful man in Europe as opposition to his bid grows.

Tesco are said to have been “deeply disappointed” by their failure to bring Mr Blair on board as they believed he could use his diplomatic profile to “open doors”.

if he got the job he'd be financially worse off as he be prohibited from such side deals etc.

They mentioned week before last that his income this year will have been c. £10 million - what's commonly known as gravy for some.

of the BFEE (Bush Crime family) about 8 years ago. I believe he has it in him to be as big a criminal as Drew Peterson.
