Tanker Spills Oil Into San Francisco Bay

U.S. Coast Guard crews were responding Friday morning to an apparent oil spill from a boat anchored in the San Francisco Bay, a Coast Guard lieutenant said.

The spill was reported at about 7 a.m. from the Dubai Star, a Panamanian-flagged vessel located at Anchorage 9 south of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, according to Lt. Steve Youde.

The initial report was that the sheen is about a mile to mile-and-a-half long, Youde said.

someone. Doesn't this bring echoes of another time when oil tankers were kept off the California coast to promote a shortage perception and engineered price hike. Ditto refinery fires, overseas troubles etc. Granted that an influx of supplying procedures might increase the likelihood of accidents, but "ripeness is all" theories can almost chart these incidents and repetitions in pretty blatant patterns.

The trouble is, people have gotten tired of bringing up the coincidences and no response except rationalization by the oil industry PR via MSM. You would think they wouldn't even have to bother putting on a show no one pays attention to, hence another shrug and rationalization against outright criminal conspiracy. What about tanker safety since Exxon Valdez? Another shrug. Does anyone even bother to scrub done the birds and otters anymore?

In any event the situation is superfluous to the real issue. Getting rid of oil energy, ergo imports, completely. I bet it would wake people up a lot more if apple juice concentrate from China (going to Mott's labeling factories) spilled out of a tanker and started killing all the fish.
