CNN Poll: 7 in 10 say Palin not qualified to be president
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) - More than seven in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll.

Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president, with 29 percent saying she does have the credentials to serve in the White House. Republicans appear split, with 52 percent saying she's qualified and 47 percent disagreeing with that view.

The poll indicates that about half of the country, 51 percent, has an unfavorable view of Palin, with 42 percent seeing her in a positive light. Nearly two-thirds of those questioned say Palin's not a typical politician, and feel she's a good role model for women. Fifty-six percent add that Palin cares about people, and a similar amount think she's honest and trustworthy. But the survey indicates Americans are split over whether Palin shares their values, agrees with them on the issues, or if she's a strong leader.

"Sarah Palin has one advantage that many past Republican candidates have not shared - Americans think she cares about people like them," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "But her biggest Achilles heel is the number who think she is not qualified to be President. Those numbers are similar to what Dan Quayle got in 1993, when only 23 percent thought he was ready for the White House."

22. She quit as Governor because......
she was tired of the "fishbowl" atmosphere she had to live in. I wonder, does she think it would be LESS intrusive as a Presidential candidate?

This woman is a few fries short of a Happy Meal which makes her uniquely qualified to be the GOP candidate in '12. :)

10. Maybe not.
It says 29% think she has the "credentials".

Some probably interpreted that to mean no more than:
1) She's a US citizen.
2) She's at least 35 years old.

13. It helps to remember that the neo-conish repubs don't have any...
qualifications for their Presidential candidates except that they have the same ideology. They must be attractive to the "other" republicans (the really stupid ones like Fundies and Limbaughites) and not smart at all. Only actors like Palin and Reagan need apply. 'W' caught Rove's eye while he was wearing his jeans and leather bomber jacket. He was tapped instead of his brother because he had "the look".

The power behind the republican party DOES NOT want intelligent leaders. That's why the Neos were always saying Palin was so smart and qualified. She is as qualified as they want her to be.

Scary, indeed, but they R a minority (and a shrinking one 'also').

15. Still a very dangerous number...why?
Edited on Wed Oct-28-09 02:14 PM by Stuart G
Any number above 20 shows some legitimacy. Some..not much

I hate to say this, but it is the truth.
A relatively crazed German was involved an election in 1932, got a little more than 30 percent of the vote. He stuck around long enough to cause terrible pain
Palin needs to be removed once and for all. Somehow.

First round
Candidate Votes (%) Party membership
Paul von Hindenburg 18,651,497 (49.6) Incumbent with no party affiliation
Adolf Hitler 11,339,446 (30.2) National Socialist German Workers Party or Nazi Party (NSDAP)
Ernst Thälmann 4,983,341 (13.2) Communist Party of Germany (KPD)
Theodor Duesterberg 2,557,729 (6.8) German National People's Party (DNVP)

Turnout was 86.2%.

17. Please nominate her!
Republicans, you need to stick with what has worked, and that has been Rove's strategy of appealing to the Republican base, and no one else. If you get them excited enough, maybe they will hop in a time machine and have more children 14 years ago just so they can have more votes in 2012 vote for Palin.

Because that's the only way a Palin win is possible.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - According to a study a little less than 3 out of 10 Americans are dumber than dryer lint. According to poll takers
these Americans would put their penis into a vice gripe, watch "Walker, Texas Ranger," and be surprised when Chuck Norris kicked the
bad guy in the face, and would spend 80% of their income on Q.V.C.. Most of this subset watched Fox News for their information and thought
Sean Hannity was really smart.

30. Let's see. 62% turnout in Nov 08, of which 46% voted McPalin. So 28%
back then considered Palin a splendific choice for VP. So the numbers are consistent, though I expected by now more of them would have been shot in the head by drunk friends clowning around with guns, Dick Cheney style
