Baucus: Bipartisanship still on track
Source: NBC

Not sure how he believes this after Chuck Grassley's comments on Monday, but Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus has released a statement stressing that his committee is still working on a bipartisan bill.

Baucus:

Bipartisan progress continues. The Finance Committee is on track to reach a bipartisan agreement on comprehensive health care reform that can pass the Senate. Our group will be meeting tomorrow and our staffs continue to meet as well. I am confident we will continue our steady progress toward health care reform that will lower costs and provide quality, affordable coverage to all Americans.

Baucus doesn't want to just pal around with Dems and turn his back on his best buds in the GOP.

1. They have until Sept. 15th. They can go through the motions but no one expects anything and they
aren't going to slow things down.

Senate is back in session on Sept. 7th.

3. We don't like your brand of bi-partisanship Max (D)-corp.
"Giving Away the Store" by caving to the demands of the insane, corporate minority isn't what we voted for when we demanded CHANGE.

5. Bi-partisanship show pony that was necessary. Concern is getting all 60 for public option. Not

happening and reconciliation problematic. I think there were concessions to get insurance companies to play nicer, on the public option as a concession, then both ConsrvaDems and lobbies resisted. May have been politically necessary, however much we believe the mere wisdom of our positions will win.

Wish people understood where we are was inevitable to a degree, bad media and all. So how do we get Ben Nelson? Reconciliation we lose public option, etc, so Dems have to come through but won't.

6. Then I, as a taxpayer, demand your resignation from the Finance Committee and demand you that you...
join Lieberman as "Irrelevant" Club. Let the big boys do the work.

7. Translation: Bipartisan = For the corporations. No constituent has asked
for this to be bipartisan. It is just a way for them to hide behind the Republicans when we ask WTF is all this corporate welfare crap doing in the bill.

19. Yeah, for Baucus, bipartisanship is still on its sidetrack.
Meanwhile, responsible Dems need to switch to the Democratic main line.

How about you play Republican for a Day (since it isn't that much of a stretch for you) and 59 Democrats plus you can make it "bi-partisan"?
