The man is accused of threatening to kill three federal judges

CHICAGO - The lawyer for a blogger accused of threatening to kill three Chicago-based federal judges said Friday that his client has been an FBI informant.

During a bond hearing Tuesday for extremist blogger Hal Turner, Attorney Michael Orozco also said his client gave authorities information about a plot to assassinate President Barack Obama.

But federal prosecutor William Hogan told the judge that he'd "never heard anything about that" and that Turner's contacts with the FBI ended "some time ago."

Turner pleaded not guilty on Tuesday. He is accused of telling visitors to his Web site that the three judges "deserve to be killed" for upholding Chicago's ban on handguns.
