Congress to hold hearing
Panel to examine recruiting nationwide

By M.E. Sprengelmeyer, Rocky Mountain News
March 3, 2004

Despite protests from Colorado lawmakers, a congressional subcommittee has scheduled a hearing next week to examine football recruiting issues raised by the scandal at the University of Colorado.

The emotional topic has put Rep. Diana DeGette, a Denver Democrat, at odds with the other eight members of the state's congressional delegation.

DeGette endorsed the hearing. The others signed a letter saying congressional hearings "are not only premature but could impede the investigations that are currently under way in Colorado."

one would think that there may be more pressing issues for Congress to worry about. WMD, CIA agents being blown up, 9/11, allegations of a coup in Haiti, just to name a few. C'mon Congress lets get priorities straight.

3. a'int that the truth!
Who said this during impeachment:

"If someone tells you it's not about money; you know it's about money.
And if someone tells you it's not about sex; you know it's about sex."
