Bush calls Chirac 'to thank France' over Haiti
PARIS, March 2 (AFP) - Presidents Jacques Chirac of France and George W. Bush of the United States praised their countries' cooperation in the effort to restore order in Haiti during a telephone conversation Tuesday, Chirac's spokeswoman said.

"President Bush telephoned the president of the republic to express his pleasure at the excellent Franco-American cooperation and to thank France for its action," Catherine Colonna said.

France took the diplomatic lead in the Haitian crisis, being the first to call for an international peace force and the resignation of Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Since Monday France and the United States both have troops in the capital Port-au-Prince.

2. In this case, The USA are working with France.

Remember, Powell didn't want to overthrow Aristide. France and Canada asked for an international force and the Aristide resignation.

Only when the chaos became inevitable, the USA decided to act for avoiding the tide of refugees they knew four years ago

3. Chirac
should have slammed the phone down in his ear.

Better yet, his secretary should have said, "He can't come to the phone. He's having lunch with Johnny Depp. Can I take a message?"

in the normal tradition, maybe she will think twice before acting like a clown before the cameras as she is greeted. Maybe she will recognize that there are other countries in this world that her cowardly husband does not control, and it would be to her benefit to not make fun of them in front of cameras with facial expressions of disdain or mockery as if she was somehow elevated above their amusing , little, hand kissing rituals.
