U.S.: Mad Cow Meat Recall 4 Times Larger
The Agriculture Department said Tuesday its meat recall from the nation's first case of mad cow disease was nearly four times larger than previously disclosed, but dismissed the size as irrelevant.

2. We stopped eating ANYTHING but 'organic' meat
a few months ago. Japan tested ALL cows. GB tested almost 1/2 of their cattle. The US response was 'why test, no more downers in the meat supply'. But they still are, they refuse to do tests.......the gov't knows how bad this thing is.
We need a funded group to do random testing..since the FDA won't.

4. Big problem with this cow - she wasn't a downer.
Employees from the slaughter house said they threw her in so they could get a little extra money from the government for cow brains for testing. Now doesn't every one have a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

3. we quit eating all beef products
by-products or smells on December 20 - prior to that we had cut our beef consumption by 75%.

It gets easier every day under the guidance and handling of our inept governmental regulatory agencies.

5. Beef-free household here, too,
although I wonder what things I might be buying that actually have beef by products in them, since masked pieces of cow seem to be put in an odd variety of things.
