U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich opposes the Democrats' energy bill: "Apparently, the planet is not melting; it is just getting better for polluters." House Democrats trying to rally support for a 1,200-page energy bill scheduled for a vote on Friday won't get any help from Cleveland's Dennis Kucinich, who announced his opposition to the bill today on the House of Representatives floor.

Kucinich said the bill gives too many breaks to electric utilities that burn coal and won't cut carbon emissions fast enough.

"Apparently, the planet is not melting; it is just getting better for polluters," Kucinich said in a House of Representatives floor speech.

Many of Ohio's Republicans oppose the bill for the opposite reason. They argue its "cap and trade" program to reduce carbon dioxide emissions would be too tough on coal-burning utilities that supply most of the state's electricity...

10. It's a bugger when he's right so often isn't it?
Nice example though: the people who outvoted him did very nicely
from the bribes of those who benefited from the bailouts and I'm
sure that we'll see exactly the same from this sellout too.

God, I'm glad someone's out there telling it like it is; evidently no one else is willing to.

5. God, this guy is never satisfied with anything
He's like a little child.

He votes with Republicans, but oh, that's OK because you see he's doing it from a leftist perspective. :eyes:

6. Blue Dog Compromise: The good news is, we got the bill passed, and
the polluting companies are not going to lose any profit.

The bad news is, the planet is going to die because the bill didn't do jack shit toward stopping polluters.

Thanks, Dennis, at least somebody in Congress gets it.

11. Yep, that nailed it.
How long until some sellout trumpets this as a "major achievement"?

12. Kick for the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party. The Republican Wing of the Democratic Party
seems completely unable or unwilling to deal with this crisis in an effective way.
